AI visibility for B2B

Your buyers ask an AI before they ask you.

Around half of B2B buyers now start their research inside ChatGPT, Claude or Google's AI. They ask for a shortlist and they get one answer, built from a handful of sources the model trusts. Your company is either named in that answer or it is not.

Free through September and October. No access to your site required.

The shift

The research happens before you hear about it.

A buyer used to arrive through a search result, which meant you could see them coming. Now the shortlist is formed inside an assistant, before you know the buyer exists.

How it used to work

1The buyer types a query into Google
2They get ten links and open several
3They land on your site and read it
4You see the visit in your analytics

How it works now

1The buyer asks an assistant for a shortlist
2They get one written answer, not ten links
3Three or four companies are named in it
4Nobody visits your site, and you see nothing

Half

of B2B buyers start research in an AI tool, not a search engine.

1 in 6

companies knows whether AI tools mention them at all.

Several times

better is how AI visitors convert against normal search.

A real answer

This is what a shortlist looks like now.

We asked Claude a question a buyer in Singapore might reasonably ask.

Claude

What are the best CRM systems for B2B SaaS companies in Singapore?

There's no single winner here. The pick comes down to team size, sales motion, and whether you want marketing sitting in the same tool.

HubSpot is the safe default for most B2B SaaS, roughly one million to fifty million ARR. The catch is cost.

Pipedrive is the sales-first option. Clear pipeline visibility, no marketing layer.

Attio is the modern pick, built data-model-first, which is why PLG teams like it.

Zoho stays in the mix on price.

Salesforce I'd skip below twenty million ARR.

Four companies named. Five sources cited. Not one of them a vendor's own website. The model built that shortlist from what other people had written.

Why SEO doesn't cover it

Ranking well is no longer the same thing as being cited.

Everything an SEO report measures still exists. It just stopped predicting whether a model names you. The overlap between the two has fallen from around seventy percent to under twenty percent.

What an SEO report measures

What decides an AI answer

A ranked list of ten links

One written answer naming three companies

Googlebot, which waits for the page

Fetchers that take the page as it arrives

Google's index

Bing for ChatGPT, separate crawlers elsewhere

Keywords on your own pages

What independent sources say about you

Position and click-through rate

Whether your name appears at all

The trap underneath all of it

Many sites are built so the page arrives almost empty and fills in a second later. Google waits for that. Most AI tools do not, so they read the empty version and conclude there is nothing there. Sites that rank perfectly well fail this constantly, and nothing about it looks broken from the outside.

Already working with an agency on this?

Most agencies now sell AI visibility, and most of what they sell is monitoring. Our scorecard gives you 21 questions to put to your agency, with a scoring system, so you can judge whether they can actually fix what they find.

How it works

What actually improves your AI visibility.

An AI answer is built from what you publish and what other people publish about you. Both can be worked on. Most companies work on neither, and measure nothing.

01

Can the AI read you

Before anything else, the AI has to be able to open your website and understand it. Security settings, often switched on by an IT team with no marketing involvement, quietly turn AI tools away at the door. And even when the site opens, the details that matter, what you sell, who you serve, what it costs, often sit inside images or panels the AI never reads.

02

Does anyone else back you up

An AI trusts what other people say about you far more than what you say about yourself. Roughly eighty four percent of the sources these tools quote are third party. If your best claims only appear on your own website, the model has nothing to confirm them with, so it leaves them out. This is the slower half of the work and the half almost nobody does.

03

Can you see any of it

Most people who arrive from an AI show up in your analytics as direct traffic, the same bucket as someone typing your address in. So the whole channel looks like it does not exist. We separate it out first, so everything we change afterwards can be measured against how often you actually get named.

We work in that order. There is no point earning mentions if the AI cannot read your site, and no point fixing your site if you cannot tell whether it worked.

Questions

Questions we get asked.

Is this just SEO with a new name?

No. SEO optimises for a ranked list of links, and this optimises for whether a model names you inside a written answer. The overlap between the two has fallen to under twenty percent, and the technical requirements are different.

Are there quick fixes that get you into AI answers?

Not the ones being sold. There is a small industry offering special files and code you can add to your website that supposedly tell AI tools to recommend you, and Google has confirmed these do nothing. What works is slower and less exciting: making sure the AI can read your site, making your key facts easy to quote, and getting other people to write accurate things about you.

How is this different from what my agency is doing?

Most agencies sell monitoring, which tells you that you are absent without telling you why. Ask yours whether they have checked what your security settings return to AI crawlers, and whether they have tested what those crawlers actually receive from your pages. Our scorecard has 21 questions like that one, and you are welcome to score us against them as well.

What do you need from me for the audit?

Your website, your category, and three competitors you want to be measured against. That is all. We do not need access to your analytics or your site.

How long does the audit take?

Two working days from when we have your details.

What happens after the audit?

Nothing, unless you want it to. The audit tells you where you stand. If you want the full diagnostic with a ranked list of what to fix, that is our paid Health Check. If you want us to do the fixing, we can talk about that too.

Is the audit really free?

Yes, through September and October. We are running them to build case studies in Asia and the Gulf, which is why the numbers are limited.

Do you guarantee we will be recommended?

No, and treat anyone who does as a warning sign. Models change, sources change, and answers vary by wording, date and location. What we commit to is method: what we check, what we change, and how we measure it.
